Las Terrazas is a small community and
nature reserve in the municipality of
Candelaria,
Cuba. It is located in the
Sierra del Rosario mountains and was designated a
Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1984. The area had been devasted by coffee plantations. In 1968, the government set out to help the local community to restore the hills by terracing the hills and planting secondary forests. We stayed in Casa Los Sauces on the road to Soroa.
